On the way home yesterday I stopped at a road side stand that was selling plants and flowers, so of course I had to stop and see what they had to offer. The man was very friendly, very talkative and had a wonderful selection to choose from at some very decent prices. It was in the 90’s yesterday and I was getting a bit over heated standing out there talking with this guy, so I didn’t stay as long as I’m sure he would have liked me to, but I did walk away with a nice Rooster’s Comb that I got to bring home for the yard.

Surprise Baby Shower

We are having a baby shower for a co worker in September. What a great month to have a baby in. September is my favorite month in the entire year and it’s usually a busy one as well. This shower will take a lot of work, it’s a surprise and that in itself will be a challenge. We are a close knit bunch of folks there and have been for many years. I’m lucky to have these people in my life, day in and day out. We are always there for each other, it’s nice to have people on your side and in your corner in many aspects of your life.

I’m looking for a baby walker to give as my present and have turned to the Internet to find the best product for the best price around. I should have plenty of time to find the perfect match. It’s fun looking at all of the baby products that are on the market these days. And the things that they have for baby showers are fabulous. We are going to have a blast that day at work. We get to have a few days like this each year. You gotta have some fun ya know?

My Two Cents Worth

Big breasts are not something that run in my family. So now that my daughter is pregnant and gaining weight like crazy she is enjoying having a larger than normal breast size. She is seriously considering having a breast enlargement procedure done after the baby is born. That is all well and good as far as I’m concerned, but I’d like to know when she will find the time and the money for it when all is said and done.

She has done some talking with friends as well as some research online and is convinced that she will be able to take a trip over to the U.K. at some point and have it done by and at the MYA Cosmetic Surgery professionals. She has sent me the link to their website Mya.co.uk for me to take a look at as well during my free time in the evenings. I must say that their prices are very reasonable and they offer financing as well, which is what I think she will need to take advantage of when the time comes.

MYA does all kinds of cosmetic surgery and have a very user friendly website that anyone would enjoy gazing at. As far as my daughter needing this type of procedure, I’ll leave that entirely up to her and her husband. I’ll keep my two cents to myself.

The Rising Issue of Charge Backs

I know that the number of charge backs are on the increase these days. I know many people that are running businesses online and off that are struggling with the numerous scams and rip off artist that seem to suck companies dry of their hard earned and much needed overhead. The saying of “Where there is a will there is a Way”comes to mind and is so very true, sad but true. I was reading up on this issue on one of the numerous blogs that I tend to frequent now and then, entitled “Chargeback Defense Strategies” found at webhostinggeeks.com in which I learned the value of using the features of AV (address verification) and the CVC (credit card verification) as ways to insure the legitimacy on credit card purchases. Makes sense to me, good to know that that there are strategies that are being taken and why.

I also enjoy reading various web hosting reviews, I have to admit that I’m still looking for my perfect match. It’s not that I’m unhappy with my current web hosting provider but I like to be an informed consumer and using the Internet makes the learning a much easier task, wouldn’t you say?

I’ve made a lot of friends. Some were good and some weren’t. Some of them are still considered friends, some are gone by their choice, some by mine and some by Gods will but each of them came into my life when they were needed at one time or another for one reason or another. I value each and every one of them, good or bad because I learned something from each of them. That’s what life is, a long journey that hopefully we learn from so we don’t have to keep going on the same stretch of road.

I like new scenery from time to time but I also like my comfort zone and my home is that. Give me a quiet weekend at home with good friends and I’m in heaven.

Remote Control Issues

Had to take the family car into the shop for a tune up and an oil change over the weekend. That’s always a fun thing to look forward to. Besides having to dish out our hard earned money, it plan sucks sitting there in the waiting room for several hours with nothing but a stack of outdated magazines that I would think of touching these days. The threat of the Swine Flu has cured me of touching anything that I think someone else might have touched in any public place or area. I’m definitely using more and more hand sanitizer and washing my hands a lot more in an effort to keep healthy during the up and coming flu season.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that this trip to the garage offered me, and the few other customers, a newly installed brand new HD 54″ Flat Screen TV for us, the customers, to watch and enjoy while waiting for our vehicles to be released. I noted that they also signed up for a Direct TV Business package which provides folks with plenty of channels to choose from to keep them entertained instead of watching the clock, nervously.

I think that Commercial Direct TV is a great idea as long as the men that are waiting and channel surfing don’t hog the remote like they are so well known for doing at home. With people so stressed out these days, it wouldn’t surprise me to hear on the news a story about a remote control brawl taking place. I’m sure if my ol’ man had to take one of the vehicles to the shop he’d appreciate being able to watch his favorite shows on Commercial Direct T V and I’d bet that he’d be hanging tight onto the control, he is a creature of habit, that one is.

Poker run for Justin

You can hear the rumble of Harley’s for miles as they all gathered to start a poker run for Justin. Justin is a local 4 year old that was diagnosed with leukemia a month ago. His parents don’t have much so the expense for his treatments are a real strain on the family since the mother had to quit work to stay by Justin’s side.

Not even one of these tattooed, long haired, leather clad bikers knows Justin or his parents but they know the child needs help so a local group of bikers who had heard about Justin from a family member that knows his mother decided to put together a poker run to raise money for the family.

A poker run is where a group of bikers pay so much to enter the run, then follow a course collecting playing cards at designated stops in hopes of having the best hand at the end of the run. The bike with a winning hand collects a monetary prize. Not this time. Not one single bike accepted anything. In fact, at the end, a lot of them donated even more money than just giving the entry fee. Altogether, there was over $5,500 raised for Justin. Many of the bikers that have a business of any sort are putting up donation jars in their businesses too.

Now who said dirty old bikers don’t have a heart? Sure wasn’t me!!!!! Justin and his family are in the hearts of all of us now. His little life is in the hands of a higher power than any of us but our thoughts and prayers are with Justin and his family.

Energy Efficient Ceiling Fans

I so grateful for Hansen Wholesalers and the great deals that they have to offer. I have become accustomed to having my ceiling fan on in the bedroom at night.
