Parts of the U. S. are perfect for harnessing wind energy by using the giant white wind turbines. Every time I drive through California I see sections of the highway surrounded by long rows of wind turbines lining the hill ridges. It is an interesting site – I don’t think they are ugly – I think they are majestic. One of the companies who actually manufacture the wind turbines is in Denmark, called Vestas. They have a plant here in Colorado and have plans to open 3 more plants. Sounds like more jobs be created here folks.

That is great news – in my opinion we need to make them here and put them to work as soon as possible. But apparently there are a lot of people that are totally against these energy producing pieces of technology. They don’t produce a huge amount of energy, but we need all that can harness right now as far as I’m concerned. I’m not happy that so many birds are killed by these huge towers, which is one concern that many people are expressing lately. I also hear that the area that these turbines are working are not the areas that get to utilize what is being produced and that it is being harnessed and used in totally different states. That’s a bummer, but something should be able to be worked out with that particular issue and move on.
