One of the convenience store clerks that I became friends with over the past few years was having boyfriend issues and I encouraged Lisa to get out of that relationship. That is a hard thing to do, especially when you are financially dependent on the other person in your relationship. But she mustered up the courage to ask for help from some family members and managed to start a new life in Austin.
The day that Lisa told me she was leaving, I was both sad for losing a friend that I got to know and enjoy for a good long while along with being happy for her big chance to get away from here and make a fresh start in Austin. She knows a few people around the Austin area that should be able to help her out to get her started in her new life and home.
She sent word through her store manager that she loves Austin and has found both a new job and a house that she wants to buy. She made an offer on the house last week and they are waiting on the home inspection report for her bank to approve the mortgage.
